This product clearly says to take one before a meal for three meals a day and be sure to drink one cup(8 oz) of water when you take it. This product is a fiber product, when you first start taking any soluble fiber it may cause gas at first but that is a indicator that your diet was lacking in fiber anyway. The same thing will happen to you if you start taking Metamucil or any other fiber product. I have taken this product and it has done wonders for me.
